Support Groups

Addictions Groups – The Addictions Team offers peer support and professional-led support groups including Smoking Cessation. For information, contact  

Mental Health – The Mental health Team provides support and services through groups in the IDC. Changeways is a group that helps clients manage depression. For information contact 

Monday Night Support Group – This weekly HIV support group focuses on aging and long term survivors. It meets on Monday evening 6:30 – 8:00. For information, 

Patient Advisory Group – Two PAGs are held in the IDC. One is an open drop-in meeting held on Thursday afternoons (1:30pm-3pm) and the other is a more formal meeting every three months. The purpose of these groups is to include the IDC patient voice. For more information, contact 

Community Kitchen – The dietician and social worker offer a monthly Community Kitchen monthly on Tuesdays. Participants decide on the themes and share in cooking a healthy, balanced meal on a budget. All cooking skills and abilities are welcome and all supplies are provided. For more information, contact  

Community Voice Mail – A voice mail service (operated through Lu’ma Native Health Society) is available for IDC patients. Individuals are given a unique phone number for a secure and confidential voice mail which they can access from any phone. For more information, see a social worker or peer navigator.

Aboriginal Services – Outreach and support through our Aboriginal Nurse Practice Leader is available to IDC patients. Contact 

Emergency Nutrition Support – In an effort to help address food insecurity issues, the IDC offers support for immediate nutrition needs and helps individuals identify longer term solutions. Contact
